BIOGRAPHY
Eloise has a varied freelance career, working regularly with numerous professional orchestras in both the UK and Scandinavia, including the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), Jönköping Sinfonietta and Orchestra of the Swan. In addition to orchestral work, Eloise has also performed in chamber music projects, in ensembles including piano, string quartet and wind quintet, as well as a contemporary percussion and piccolo quintet, performing concerts in Sweden, Norway, Germany and the UK. Most recently, after a successful audition, Eloise was on trial for the position of Co-Principal Solo Flute in the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Norway and No. 2 Principal Flute in the Scottish Opera Orchestra.
Eloise’s music education has been very varied; after three years of study, Eloise graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2015 with a first-class bachelor’s degree in music, specialising in flute performance with Diane Clark. For two consecutive years Eloise was awarded 1st prize in the University’s Summer Festival Soloist Competition, performing Chaminade’s Concertino for flute & orchestra and F. Danzi’s Flute Concerto No. 2 in D minor. In the same year, Eloise was also awarded 1st prize by Stephen Cleobury in the prestigious Music at Beaulieu competition. After graduating, Eloise was invited back as a guest soloist to tour with the University of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in the Netherlands, performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D major.
In 2015, Eloise moved to Gothenburg, Sweden to complete her master’s degree in Orchestral Performance as part of the Swedish National Orchestra Academy. This included studies in close co-operation with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, with lessons from Håvard Lysebo (Co-Principal Flute, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra). In her final semester of study, Eloise was awarded 1st Prize in the Swedish National Orchestra Academy’s solo competition, performing Malcolm Arnold’s Concerto for Flute & Strings with the University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and conductor Joana Mallwitz in 2017.
Eloise has recently completed 2 years of post-graduate level studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy, with Maestro Andrea Oliva.
